Finding Balance in the Festive Season

The holiday season is a time of connection, joy, and indulgence—we personally love that the festive season brings so many opportunities to connect over meals! However, it can also leave us feeling out of balance with energy dips, bloating, or even stress from overindulgence.
Here are a few of our favourite ways to balance the enjoyment, ensuring you navigate the festive season feeling your best:

1. Walk It Off

A short walk after meals (just 10-15 minutes) can work wonders. Why? Walking helps your muscles soak up sugar from your bloodstream, keeping your blood sugar stable. This not only prevents energy crashes but can also reduce the chances of overeating later. Stable blood sugar levels help you avoid the cravings, brain fog, mood changes and fatigue often associated with sugar highs and lows. Try a short walk around the block after lunch, or an after dinner stroll as an easy way to feel lighter and more energised.

2. Try Apple Cider Vinegar Before Meals

Having one to two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (ACV) diluted in water before meals may support your body's ability to manage sugars and carbohydrates more effectively. ACV works by slowing the rate at which sugar enters your bloodstream, helping to prevent spikes that can lead to energy crashes and cravings. By keeping blood sugar levels steady, it not only helps you feel more balanced throughout the day but also reduces the long-term stress on your body, supporting overall health. Plus, it’s a simple addition to your routine! You could also try our Happy Gut Shot, a daily tonic that supports digestion, bloating and blood sugar control.

3. Eat Balanced Meals Throughout the Day

Skipping meals to “save room” for a big holiday feast often backfires. When you're overly hungry, it’s much harder to make balanced choices—and you’re more likely to overeat. Ensuring you have a fibre & protein-packed breakfast and lunch can keep you satisfied and in control come an after work social event. This approach ensures you arrive at events feeling in control, not ravenous.

4. Choose Indulgences Mindfully

The holidays are about enjoying yourself, and indulgence is part of the fun! Not every treat will leave you feeling happy and satisfied, though. Pause and ask yourself: Which indulgences will I truly enjoy? Maybe you love a good cheeseboard but can take or leave dessert, or vice versa. Choose one or the other and focus on the foods and drinks that matter most to you, and enjoy them guilt-free.

The festive season is a time to connect and celebrate—not stress. Small actions like walking after meals and eating balanced meals around mindful indulgences can help you feel your best. And remember, it’s just one meal out of 21 each week. Your overall habits are what matter most.
