Slow Cooked Beef Brisket

Amidst the current protein focus in the nutrition world, it’s important to remember: not all sources OF PROTEIN are created equal.

The rise in processed meat consumption and the availability of "high-protein" packaged snacks at supermarkets is concerning. While these products may contain protein, they often come with health risks. Processed meats like ham, bacon, sausages, and salami are classified as Group 1 carcinogens—the same category as tobacco and asbestos.

In its natural state, meat offers unparalleled nutritional density, providing iron, zinc, B vitamins, essential fatty acids, magnesium, choline, and high-quality protein. Slow-cooking meat enhances its benefits, breaking down collagen into gelatin, which supports joint health, digestion, and amino acid intake—all without the harmful preservatives found in processed options.

You can create the convenience of deli meats without the nasties by letting your slow cooker do the work, providing you with fresh, nutrient-dense protein to enjoy all week long.
